"Tapovan" - Gîte for four people

On the edge of the village of Massat, in the French Pyrénées, "Tapovan" is found high on the mountainside, at 750 metres altitude. Approached from our steep driveway, from a "no through" lane which leads to the hamlet of Eycherboul, the house is perfectly secluded. Set in woodland with fabulous, panoramic views across the valley towards the south, this holiday home is a wonderful haven, a place of peace and solitude. Here we can offer comfortable, gîte accommodation, on a self catering or bed and breakfast basis. As our house adjoins the gîte, we are close by to assist with requirements and queries should they arise.

"Tapovan" is an ideal base to explore the beautiful area of the Ariège. This part, the Couserans, is popular with walkers and cyclists (including the Tour de France) and enjoys good summer temperatures. In the winter, alpine skiing is available at resorts an hour or so drive away, Guzet and Ax-Les-Thermes for example. Nordic skiing and snow shoe (raquette) walking can be enjoyed a mere fifteen minutes drive away at the Etang de Lers.
